2019: Exhibitions & Batik Workshops

Ammerdown Conference Centre nr Bath: Delivered 2 one day Batik workshop days plus a 3 day photography course

Natural Theatre Commission: Funded to run an themed art project with a group of mature learners. My advertising brought along 6 women and 4 men and our theme was the Somerset Coal Canal 'basins' behind my studio.  In April we had produced 22 A4 sized pieces ranging from Batik to screen printing as well as applique, cross titch and photo transfers Our piece was titled 'The Somerset Coal Canal, then and Now'.

The resulting large cloth banner 'triptych' was exhibited at Midsomer Nortons new library, a Somerset Coal Canal Society social event and is now displayed in Radstock Museum as part of the Coal Canal history display.

The Engine Room Art Group: Once the triptych was complete, all but one of the group asked if they could continue their weekly art sessions.  Since July, the group has attended art sessions each Monday afternoon and new members have joined.  Our programme is:

15 minutes of still life or other suggested 'warm up' activity

Developing your own themed work (mainly batik and screen printing)

Every last Monday of the month, we decide where to go and spend the afternoon together walking, viewing an exhibition or listening to someone inspirational. So far we have met: Greyfield Woods, High Littleton, The Coal Canal and Wellw Brook path and Victoria Art Gallery.
